Chad,

You should download the new Q-tip album, The Renaissance. It's so good I want to have sex with it.

Also, Atmosphere is very good hip hop.

There's another song out there too. If you buy tickets to their upcoming tour they send you a link to a digital ep with those songs, and another one called The Impulse - which is all done with a vocoder...and puts you to sleep.

I like Convinced of the Hex, but am not sure yet about the others. Every Flaming Lips album since Yoshimi just sounds like a continuation of Yoshimi to me. This album was supposed to be more guitars and returning to their roots, but based on these 3 songs, it doesn't sound like that much at all.

I'm probably off base on this one, but I've been digging this band lately.

Also, this song/album reminds me of chem bros back in the day:

I seriously can't find a good rock album. Didn't like the new Muse, eels, placebo, etc. New modest mouse is alright, but not what they used to be. I did like the new radiohead song, but where's the other 11. Arctic Monkeys, I can appreciate because Josh Homme was behind it, but I still can't get really into it. I can only listen to the dead weather so much. I did grab the monsters of folk album the other day, but haven't listened to it yet.

Speed this up 10x and that pretty much describes what is happening to my brain.

I will have to check those out. I've listened to the new Dinosaur Jr, Twilight Sad, and Doves...wasn't really a fan of any of them. Perhaps I should give them another try...I just remember not feeling it when I listened to them the first time.

I miss college radio.

I listen to the Impact at work too!

I have fem-boners for We were promised Jetpacks right now.

Mead caught me singing that Yacht--Psychic City song the other day and made fun of me a lot for it...but it does stick in your head.

Reese.

Thanks for the suggestions guys - I just downloaded 8 new albums in less than 5 minutes. woot woot! love usenet.

I would listen to the impact if I had a nice coushy office job, but instead I'm forced to drive around to multiple pet stores all day and put stickers on bags of dog food because my life fucking rocks. /sarcasm Radio in phoenix is a cross between classic rock that only plays van halen, pop that only plays lady gaga, and horrendous country music stations. I can't win for losing. There's one somewhat hip radio station based out of tempe, but they have a week signal and its hard to pick up.

There used to be a sweet talk radio station out of LA that I used to listen to all the time, but that was replaced by more Lady fucking gaga

Unfortunately, I have to work that Monday in St. Joseph, so I'll probably go down there Sunday night.

If I was able put forth my usual 1/2 conscious work effort that I do when I'm in my office, then I would totally go, but since I have to be at a school, i should get some sleep and be ready.

Sad

Nate could still go but I don't know if he was really wanting to or not, I think he was indulging in my new Scottish accent kick.

Josh from QOTSA, Dave Grohl and John Paul Jones (Led Zeppelin) collaborating = Them Crooked Vultures.

Really does sound like a combination of Led Zeppelin riffs with QOTSA lyrical sound. I really enjoy it.
