Hey Chad, have you heard of a band called, "The National"? I think you would like them. I downloaded their new cd, "Boxer". All of the reviews are comparing their style to Nick McCave and Joy Division.

It's good stuff.

Putting Nick Cave and Joy Division together is like putting sex and pizza together: two great things made greater when combined.

Thanks for the tip, I'll check them out.

if you've ever read a review from pitchfork, you'll probably get a chuckle out of this.

The Onion: "Pitchfork gives music a 6.8"

me neither. i can't believe all of the impassioned responses to that list. people really detest that instrument. i also like how this in particular was called out numerous times in the comments:

National Anthem's use of the sax was strictly ironic.

(actually, I liked it)

not new music per se, but i thought this was an interesting article nonetheless. also, the comment by 21-year-old krisan cieszkiewicz of portage, ind. made me laugh out loud.

I'm sure most people heard about this but Eddie Vedder did a solo album for a movie by Sean Penn called "Into the Wild".

It's pretty good. A lot more mellow then PJ though.
