I have some diplo MIA stuff, but none for santogold, just grabbed the megatorrent, but don't see it in there, a bunch of other interesting remixes.
ugh, what happened to my musical taste.
AZ sucks for music, there hasn't been a good concert all year and now there's Beck/MGMT one night and MMJ the next. Also, Mogwai and Sigur Ros that same month as well. All on school nights. grr. I'm thinking MMJ is gonna be the only one I see. Mogwai is in Tucson, so I doubt that'll happen.
Jim told me last week Rush was gonna be on Colbert, he's quite excited to see it. _________________

Wow, how gay would I be if I was teary-eyed on a Nick Cave documentary?
"God, I hate this part." - Nick Cave, whilst fast-forwarding over the Chad portion of the documentary.
Oh, and as for the mention of Nick Cave's soundtrack for Woyzeck, here's an interesting tidbit... Tom Waits' album "Blood Money" is (entirely?) composed of songs from a version of Woyzeck he co-wrote. |

If anyone is interested, I have 10 invites to STMusic. Its an audio torrent site, think oink lite. The selection isn't as great as oink, but I've found just about everything I've ever looked for minus a few of the obscure bands on the dan deacon tour. I highly recommend it, just remember to share. _________________

New Gutter Twins EP, "Adorata":
Download:
http://rapidshare.com/files/142174740/Adorata.rar
"Recorded mostly during the original sessions for their debut album Saturnalia, Adorata finds The Gutter Twins drawing material from a wide range of artists and capturing the energy and excitement of their live performances. The eight track EP includes: “Belles,” (Vetiver), ” Down The Line” (Jose Gonzales), “Deep Hit Of Morning Sun,” (Primal Scream), “Flow Like A River,” (Eleven), “St. James Infirmary,” (Traditional) “Duchess,” (Scott Walker), and two previously unreleased original Gutter Twins songs “Spanish Doors,” and “We Have Met Before.”
A portion of the proceeds from the release of Adorata will go to the Natasha Shneider Memorial Fund. Shneider, a long-time friend of the band, was the lead singer for Eleven and a member of Queens of the Stone Age."
Instructions for those unfamiliar with Rapidshare:
Scroll down and you’ll see two speedometers. Under the one on the left, click the “free user” button. A short countdown will begin (45 seconds or so), and when it’s done, click the “download” button. You’ll be asked whether you want to save it or open it. Save it to wherever you want. When it’s done downloading, simply unpack the RAR file (using Winzip or whatever). Enjoy. |

Yeah, I haven’t been on the forum in a while, but I thought I’d contribute since I’m here. Here’s a couple more. I don’t know if anybody here is a Deerhunter fan, but the first link is a bonus album that was accidentally leaked by the band themselves. It was supposed to come out in October and be a companion to Microcastle. The second one is some sort of Grizzly Bear spin-off. Pretty weird and mellow. Good stuff methinks.
Deerhunter – Weird Era Cont: http://www.megaupload.com/?d=HKT3NOE6
Department of Eagles – In Ear Park: http://www.megaupload.com/?d=SD50M0V6
Anyways, when you’re on the Megaupload page, there are 3 capital letters and an empty box in the upper right-hand corner. Just put those letters in there, capitalized, and click the download button. A timer will appear at the bottom of the “free” column and countdown from 45. When it’s finished, just click “free download”. Once again, it’s a RAR file, so you’ll have to unpack it.
Any requests? I can find almost anything. |

no i most certainly did not brandon! i asked if we could buy it off itunes. i would *never* advocate the illegal downloading of music especially when said music is only $7, proceeds of which go to a memorial fund. you, sir, are depraved!

I blame downloaders like you for the fact that my singing is not generating any revenue. |

today, Eddie taught little ol' Lolo how to use torrent sites. I've never even seen one, or even remotely understood how they work.
Since Ed, you aren't on facebook and thus cannot read my blog on there, I'd thought I'd share today's entry.
(sorry for the incredible length)
Today - I, Michele Morenz, being of a sound 26 year old mind, learned how to download music off the internets. For free.
I am well aware that people have been doing this regularly for over a decade. In fact, I myself used to use Napster near the turn of the century. But once the whole legal bullshit dropped, I fell off the internet-music scene and said fuck it.
How have I survived so very long without downloading music, you ask?
Simple. I dated Ed Buckel. Over the entire second half of my college career, Ed was my "supplier."
It was never anything short of a drug deal. I'd go next door, strung out and looking for the goods. For my fix.
"You got the new Beck album?"
"Yeah, got it this morning."
"You think I could, you know, get some of that?"
And that was pretty much it. I canconfidently say that Ed has given me upwards of a few hundred albums. These musical donations continued well into 2007, well after we lived in different states.
It had been close to a year after Ed had moved away to Phoenix when I stopped in to visit him on one of my many cross-country journeys. He opened the door of his new house, we hugged, and I asked him to start burning. It was then that he supplied me with my entire 2008 music collection.
This morning when driving to my office and growing tired of the albums I've been listening to, I quickly became panicked. What now? Ed's in Phoenix! I'm in Atlanta!
But, I thought, maybe I can do this....on my own! It was then I decided to set off - a strong independant woman, ready to pirate her own illegal mp3s. I got on a torrent site (thanks to Ed and a secret password thing), and I downloaded some files, clicked on some other things, and THERE YOU HAVE IT!
I had to call Ed twice during my miserable attempt to download the right things.
There it was : "Arcade Fire - Funeral." Right there in my program files. And it was free. Free, and mine. And I got it from somewhere on the internet.
The funny thing is, Ed is super internet saavy. He's been doing this download shit since he was at least 16. So my questions about torrent sites are approximately the equivalent of him asking me to explain how the whole "driving a car" thing works.
But yes, every now and then, something in your life happens, and you re-join modern society. So I am gonna go and listen to all this new music. Free, illegal, self-pirated and well-deserved music. |

haaaaaa! that's awesome! i didn't know you still had your blog going, lolo. i always remember reading it and practically pissing myself laughing. seriously, you need to get sponsors on that shit and make some $$$.
i still have no clue how to illegally download media, post-napster age. i tried one time and almost got brandon arrested, so i just gave up. apparently i can do it though! it's honestly been so long since i paid for an album, that when i had to actually fork over money (well brandon's money...heehee) for a download on amazon, i felt like *i* had been violated. like, what the hell, i'm supposed to pay for this shit now? the nerve!
with that being said, i'd recommend everyone go out and pirate the new EP by one day as a lion, zach de la rocha's new side project. it's fantastic, and i'm sure he wouldn't mind!
xoxo,
